Chris Cardenas

Owner Of Anger Management | April 2, 2015

With his recent tour of Alaska with Beasto Blanco and the highly anticipated Vans, The Road To Warped Tour 15 heading our way this June, TDL was lucky enough to catch up with Chris Cardenas the owner of Anger Management.  Chris has been instrumental in placing the Alaska music scene on the world stage and has played a major role in getting the Vans Warped Tour to Alaska.

Tell us about the Vans Warped Tour 15 coming up.

This will be year #2.Year #1 was amazing! I think everyone really enjoyed it. This is a smaller scale version of Warped Tour. We cannot obviously fly up 100 bands to Alaska, but we are aiding one more stage this year, so we will have 4 stages, giving more local bands a chance to play also. We are looking at about 38 bands and artists playing this year, including some long time international bands like New Found Glory, Helmet, and We came as Romans just to name a few along with Alaska’s very own 36 Crazyfist. You can’t have a rock music festival in Alaska without 36. We are adding a lot more stuff to this years event. We want to make this a fun experience for everyone. Right now its only $40 for all these bands. On May 1 prices go to $49, which is still an amazing price for all these bands. There will also be some up and coming bands like PVRIS and TAT, which is what the Warped Tour is all about. One day your seeing up and coming bands on Warped Tour and the next day… they are selling out 10,000 people venues. People like Kid Rock, Eminem, Katy Perry and Blink 182 all started on the Warped Tour, so its a Great Experience. I always remember to thank Kevin Lyman (Co founder of the Warped Tour) for this opportunity.

Who are some of the bands that you are managing now?

I have Hey Sugar from Montréal, Pilot Touhill from Los Angeles, After The Nightfall from Mexico, Vanilla Sugar from Houston Texas, and Beasto Blanco and AeroMoto from Anchorage Alaska.

Rumor has it that Beasto Blanco just killed it at the Viper Room this past Sunday.  This ended their current West Coast Tour. Continue pg2
